Corruption - Corps Commanders


Following the dismissal of around a dozen top army officials including two generals, another two former corps commanders are also likely to come under fire for corruption charges.

Lt-General Naveed Zaman,

who served as corps commanders of Karachi and Lahore, have been given a clear message to return all the embezzled money. Sajjad Ghani has been directed to return Rs 2.8 billion to public exchequer, according to several news channels.

Both of the former officials have been accused of taking unfair benefits from Defence Housing Authority’s (DHA) projects in Lahore and Karachi. Inquiries into the alleged corruption case were ordered some four years ago.

It is also relevant to be mentioned here that Lt-General (Retd) Naveed Zaman is considered as a close business partner of Kamran Kiyani, brother of former Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani.
